Two Airshow projects were nominated for the prestigious Surround Music Awards for 2005. They are:
The Grateful Dead Movie - nominated for Best Concert Video. The project was mixed by Jeffrey Norman and mastered by David Glasser. The DVD was released by Monterey Video.

Equipment Updates:
As in the Marty Robbins cowboy gunfighter ballad, lesser ordinance is no match for the Big Iron. We've just installed a Fairman TMC Tube Master Compressor at the Boulder studios, truly a Big Iron (3 hand-wound transformers per channel, 16 tubes, plus a tube rectifier, and really big knobs). It's as close as you'll find to the venerable Fairchild 670, upon which it's based, and it sounds awesome. Available for use in any of the Boulder studios.
Dominick Maita added a Prism MLA-2 compressor to Studio B, as well as an Apogee Big Ben master clock.

Airshow Adds Xserve And T1:
With a big shiny server and T1 service at both Airshow locations, we are able to send and receive audio files via FTP. This is helpful for international clients to avoid delays in customs and for touring artists to keep their projects on schedule when they're away from home. It's fast and easy to send a replacement mix or audition a couple of different approaches to EQ. When you want to ship or receive files, please contact jason@airshowmastering.com for FTP instructions.
