AIRSHOW MASTERING CELEBRATES 21st BIRTHDAY
Studio Marks Milestone with Range of Mastering Projects

July 13, 2004Boulder, CO – Airshow Mastering celebrated its 21 years in the audio business with a party at its Boulder CO studios. The firm, founded by David Glasser, has earned recognition for its work with a wide range of independent artists and record labels.

"We're really proud to have reached this milestone. Last year we added our fourth mastering room - a big surround room - and a new production suite. This year, Dom Maita joined us from New York, rounding out a great staff," says Glasser.

The studio's and engineers' versatility is evident in a rundown of summer releases that passed through Airshow's doors in recent weeks.

Glasser mastered two projects for Koch Entertainment,You Ainšt Got No Easter Clothes by Laura Love, and Vuelta by Richard Shindell. The release of Love's CD, the seventh that Glasser has mastered for her, coincides with the release of her memoir by the same name published by Hyperion. Vuelta is singer-songwriter Richard Shindell's first project for Koch, his first since moving to Argentina where the project was composed and recorded, and the third that Glasser has mastered.

Boulder engineer Matt Sandoski mixed and mastered a project for electronic artist DJ Harry, Collision. The project is Harry's first for Sci Fidelity Records; he came to the label's attention with his String Cheese Remix Project.

Dom Maita mastered B is for B-sides, Less than Jake's first release for Warner Brothers Records. The project was recorded by Sean O'Keefe at Gravity Studios in Chicago. The Gainesville, FL, band is on the Projekt Revolution tour with Korn and Linkin Park this summer.

James Tuttle mixed the third live release by Yonder Mountain String Band; Mountain Tracks 3 is his fifth project with the jamgrass band.

In Virginia, Airshow co-owner Charlie Pilzer mastered The Interruption for the Las Vegas NV alt rock band Slow to Surface for Psychobaby Records. The project was produced, recorded and mixed by Frank Marchand. Charlie Pilzer also mastered Jennifer Cutting's Ocean; in the spirit of British electric folk, the Ocean Orchestra included vets from Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention.
